Wagon rides and high water

On Sunday we had Sister Doud and Sister Swaney for dinner.  They left us with a sweet message and their testimonies of Jesus Christ and His love for us.
Had a beautiful day working on the Wagon rides, giving tours to visitors.
Here are the lovely Sister Perkes and Sister Moss.
Also working on the other wagon was Sister Jensen.
                                                      We love working together.
On our Prep day we traveled down to Hannibal, Mo.  We ventured into this car museum.

We stopped here at an overlook of the Mississippi river.  It is very high and at flood stage.

On Sunday we served together at the Seventies Hall.

Driving a team of horses

This week I had driving lessons.  The mission is preparing for a big season of visitors this summer and may need a little help from some of the wives to assist their husbands with teamster duties.  So I had my first lesson and loved it.

Here I am finishing up a second lesson with Elder Mecham.  Parking was my challenge.
New to Nauvoo this year, sheep.
We were favored with a performance from the YPMs.  What a spirit they bring to the work here.
Everyday there are new flowers popping out.  Some different varieties.

A rainy Mother's Day

I received these beautiful roses for Mother's Day.  So spoiled and loved.  Couldn't ask for better kids.

It was a rainy day, but it made the trees pop with color around Nauvoo.

Another great week in Nauvoo

On Wednesday, May 1, we had the opportunity to work together doing the wagon ride.  Sister Mecham did the narration and Elder Mecham drove the team.

It was a rainy week, but made for some nice photos in the morning.

The river rose to flood stage as you see here at the end of Parley's street where the flatboat and wagon are on display.

Sister Mecham worked in the Family Living Center.  Today's assignment was to make bread.
The Elders made the fire in the morning, getting the oven nice and hot for the baking.
Celebrating Sister Flander's birthday.  Such a group of sweet sisters that we work with.
More spring and all her beauty.

On Sunday we served at the George Riser Boot shop.

Monday brought beautiful weather and another opportunity to serve on the wagon ride.

Part of our wagon tour comes to this spot on Parley's street near the Seventies Hall, with a nice view of the temple off in the distance.

Dreaming of spring days coming...

It is the slow season.  Feb. 26, the wind blew, so working on the wagon was brisk.  I am bundled up with two coats, hat, scarf and more. ...
