Frosty, cold, brrrr....

Things are slower here in Nauvoo this month.  As of late the weather is very cold.  We have closed down the sites 2 days in a row and tomorrow doesn't look promising for opening either.  We had an ice storm Friday evening that covered everything in a thick layer of ice.  The temperature right now is 2 degrees.  So the nice mild winter we had experienced up to this point has left.

Here is a shot of looking out our window through the frost.

Jan. 4, 2020 Memorial Service for Elder Meyocks

The year started out with a funeral or memorial service that was held here in Nauvoo for one of our teamsters, Elder Craig Meyocks.  We loved this man dearly.  Mark enjoyed so much working with him.  He was a fun loving joval ,kind man.  He played the guitar and sang.  He watched out for the underdog, making sure they were not left out.  We had fun going to the Pro Rodeo with Elder and Sister Meyocks.  I loved working with her too.  We had some great laughs together.  He will be missed.  We love Elder Meyocks.  Sister Meyocks is healing from the accident they were involved in on Christmas day.  She hopes to come back to finish the mission.  We hope so.

Christmas with the Clayburns Dec. 27 - Jan. 2

Christmas came when the Clayburns arrived on Nov. 27th.  We were so happy to have them come for another visit.  We played games, put together puzzles, had nice visits and even went to a movie in Burlington.  Of course we did some visiting at the sites too.  What a fun week we had.
Here we are all in our shawls.

Dreaming of spring days coming...

It is the slow season.  Feb. 26, the wind blew, so working on the wagon was brisk.  I am bundled up with two coats, hat, scarf and more. ...
