Dec. 20th the teamsters had a Christmas Party.  We had so much fun.
Elder Draney read his Cowboy Poetry that he writes.  So talented.

Sister Richins and Elder Meyocks play a few tunes for us.

Sister Barney played beautiful Christmas Music.

Sister Whiting told a fun Ma and Pa Christmas story.

We played a White Elephant game.  We had to get our presents from the Mailroom DI.  Elder Meyocks received a funny present that had a story with it in how he got the nickname Sparky.  We laughed and laughed.  He was a good sport to share his dumb mistake.

Christmas Walk in Nauvoo

So here in Nauvoo we do a Christmas celebration called a Christmas Walk.  We start in the Visitor's Center with the missionaries singing a song, Light Up the Tree.

And then visitors move into the West theatre for a live Nativity production.

A live choir accompanies the production.

The horses and wagons are waiting at the wagon depot to shuttle visitors over to Main Street where stories and music are shared

Christmas in Nauvoo

Luanne Roberts made this lovely quilt for us.
So kind of Jan to send us this sweet package.

Us, E/S/ Cornwell, E/S/ Richins
We are in the Cornwell district.  Here we are after a cleaning assignment.

Here I am with S/Odikirk making cookies in the Bistro.
Here in Nauvoo we do a Christmas celebration on two Saturdays, inviting all to come.  We have a short lighting of the tree ceremony with missionaries singing a song Light Up the Tree.  Then there is a live nativity in the theater put on by the missionaries with a choir.  The teamsters decorate up 3 wagons with lights and such then shuttle people from the Family Living Center to Main street where guest get off and go into 4 different sites for some Christmas stories and music.  Then they are shuttled back to the FLC where they have cookies, treats and hot cocoa and cider.

More cookie making with the E/Pinette.
Serving cookies at the Family Living Center.

Then after a few couples gathered at the El Camino in Hamilton for dinner.

Dreaming of spring days coming...

It is the slow season.  Feb. 26, the wind blew, so working on the wagon was brisk.  I am bundled up with two coats, hat, scarf and more. ...
