Elder Mecham and I drove down to Columbia, Missouri to watch draft horses plowing. That was so interesting. The driver asked Elder if he would like to try it. Of course. So he had the privilege of giving it a go. He loved it.
This is the barn where the teamsters meet and some carriages are stored. Behind this barn is the barn where the harnesses are and where the horses come in for grain before being harnessed up.
This is a front view of where we live here in Nauvoo. It is an older home that had been here for sometime. Additions were built on each side. It is comfortable and adequate for our needs.
This is the back side and yard.
So many colorful spring flowers bursting forth.
Sister Spellman and I served together at the Post Office. We think this is a magnolia bush.
We try to go to the temple once a week. We couldn't help taking more photos of the beauty all around.
Elder Mecham worked with the oxen this week. They are so unique.
We love serving here in Nauvoo. Each day brings new experiences and new people. Everyone that comes has a reason for being here, even if it is only for a day.
Good news from home. Anna is a Freshman at Union this year. Here she is with her team. They placed 2nd in the poultry division. This was their first competition for any of them. They are all Freshman. So proud of her and happy that she like agriculture. Another plus with this picture, is the lovely Myka Wayment, Vice President of the Utah chapter of FFA, presenting the award. Myka is grand niece, my brother Jim's grand-daughter. So I imagine that Grandma Zola and Grandpa Ed are smiling down upon their two beautiful great grand-daughters doing good things.
