A full week with Clayburns

 Ok, this week will be a picture overload, but it tells the story and I couldn't leave many out. 
The Clayburns arrived on Sunday evening in time for the Trail of Hope.

Monday we start with Oxen ride.  Look at all these drivers, ready to cross the plains.  



And then off to the Blacksmith shop to learn how they made wagons and wagon wheels.  
 George Riser Boot and Shoe Shop.  Kristana was here today to welcome us and tell their story. 
 We had to stop by the Bakery to learn about Lucius Scovil and get a cookie.
 Then the family spent some time in the Family Living Center, while Grandpa and Grandma worked.


 The girls made a stop by to visit with Lucy Mack Smith at her home.

                                On Tuesday, Grandma and Grandpa gave a special ride on the wagon. 


                                                        Spent some time finding geodes.
                                                      Pioneer Pastimes is loads of fun.









 On Wednesday we made it to the temple.  The girls did baptisms the day before.
                                                      We made a trip over to Carthage.

                     On Thursday, the crew met up with Grandpa for a Carriage Ride in the country.

                       That evening we went to the Country Fair and then watched the Nauvoo Pageant.




               Farewell to Nauvoo for now.  They want to come back again.  We sure hope they will.

It is the slow season.  Feb. 26, the wind blew, so working on the wagon was brisk.  I am bundled up with two coats, hat, scarf and more. ...
