Week with the Davis family

Sunday evening, July 28th we attended, The Story Goes On, a production put on by the Pageant core cast.  The mayflies were very thick swarming the stage and dying when they hit the lights.

Here is a photo of the mayflies on the morning after.

The swallows lined up waiting for the next round of mayflies.

On Monday, July29th, the Davis family consiting of Jan, Caden, Texie and children arrived for a visit.  Texie's parents, Bruce and Luanne Roberts came along in another motor home.  We were happy to have them come.

Tuesday, July 30th, first on the agenda was a temple session.

Then a carriage ride with Elder Mecham doing the narrating.

The carriage ride goes out into the country, with great stories of people that lived here.

King Follet was one of those that lived out here.  He lost his life digging a well.

Wednesday morning starts with the horses coming in.

In memory of Doc, one of the Percheron grey horses with his partner Dan on the wagon.  It is always hard to loose one.  We all felt bad.  He was a good horse, getting along in years.

Oxen ride

Pioneer Pastimes.  Caselee and Kadee dressing up and keeping house.
Ty on horseback, dressed like a youngster of the 1840s.
                                                      Kadee hauling water and apples.

Elder Mecham was on the Band wagon today.  We love the band.  They work so hard and keep us entertained with great talent.

Elder Mecham drove the wagon and Sister Mecham did the narrating.

Dreaming of spring days coming...

It is the slow season.  Feb. 26, the wind blew, so working on the wagon was brisk.  I am bundled up with two coats, hat, scarf and more. ...
